2000 Malibu Sunsetter VLX powered by a 5.7L V8 325hp MPI Indmar Monsoon engine, V–drive and only 571 hours of FRESHWATER use.
Powered by the multi-port, fuel-injected Monsoon 325hp, the Sunsetter VLX is another big-time Malibu winner. If you can somehow overlook the superior craftsmanship and all Malibu’s topside amenities, you’ll discover that Malibu is pursuing water-sports excellence with this boat. It runs on the SV 23 Diamond Hull, the same hull that carried the Response to world records. If you find it comforting having a boat that is extremely fast, exceptionally classy, yet capable of outstanding wakeboarding and solid slalom performance, then the Sunsetter VLX is the obvious choice.
For 2000 this VLX model saw the introduction of the the new Diamond hull. It provided better top-end speed, great handling, awesome slalom wakes and it enabled the intermediate to advanced wakeboarder to be totally satisfied. You get plush, wraparound seating, a swivel seat, wakeboard tower, board racks and dual tracking fins. Most V-drives don’t have tracking fins because they aren’t about performance, Malibu’s have them because they want this boat to track well and not roll up on its side when turning.
This is a great boat. It performs well, only ever freshwater used and looks great!! The owner tells us that the 571 hours on this boat is mainly due to stereo time – you see for yourself !
